What a good thread, and I commend everyone...

>National Security (who will best be able to protect America)

>A woman's choice, and infanticide (I believe a woman has a right to her body, but that babies born alive after an abortion have a right to life....

these aren't intended to be soapboxes. it's just a little more detailed than the one word answers being posted. the economy is an obvious concern but how do you think it should be fixed?

1) since the failure of bretton woods, we haven't changed our military strategy. we've changed our economic strategy to match it. this hasn't worked. we need a solid plan to regain monetary hegemony in order to sustain our military efforts throughout the world. this includes regaining control over our national debt, which currently sits at around $500,000 per household.

2) i have very conflicted view of healthcare. part of me thinks darwin should take the wheel. another part of me thinks a socialized system is a necessary part of our economy, just like socialized (public) schools or clean drinking water. i'm very conflicted on this so until i (or someone) come to a solution, i think it should be left alone.

3) the war was a huge mistake. my best friend was in the navy for 6 years and STRONGLY disagrees with me. defense against a changing enemy is an obvious necessity. how we go about doing that needs a little more strategery. i think americans need to be a little more honest with themselves about the nature of our wars and international occupations. it goes back to hegemony

4) taxes. i'm strongly against redistribution of wealth.

5) i couldn't care less about god or where politicians want to put his name. that's just a political game.
