What makes kids with CF such picky eaters?

I know not all kids with CF are as non-interested in food as my son, but it seems to be a pretty common thing. Do you think it upsets their stomachs? The meds upset their stomachs?

I know a lot of kids go through stages where they don't want to eat, or only want to eat certain foods, but kids with CF tend to take it to a whole nother level <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Boy, can I relate to this one. My son who is now 7 has always been a picky eater and not a big eater. He does have a feeding tube now. I always hear of these kids with cf having big appetites and my son has never been like that. Your not alone.

My daughter is hungry all the time, but here lately she is getting more picky about what she will eat. And sure enough her weight gain is slowing down. I am not sure what to do. I have started trying to sneak extra calories in her food when I can.

Good luck.

Both of my kids live off of a small list of things they will eat. Both of them are in the high 90's for their BMI, so my thought is, why bother with something that's working. Although it does get REALLY OLD making different foods for them all the time, but I'm worried if I make them eat something they don't like, they'll lose weight. I'm hoping they'll add in new foods as they get older.
