What song do you relate your CF fight to

Having lived with CF almost 44 years, I think I have a song or two for each decade. I like Bon Jovi's "It' My Life to Elvis' "My Way" to KISS "Reason To Live". Right now, Thriving Ivory's "Angels on The Moon" describe my life right now

Florence and the Machine - "Between Two Lungs".
My daughter (aged 22 with CF) thinks of this as her CF anthem. We would like to use it to make a short film/promo re getting Kalydeco for Australians on our national pharmaceutical benefits scheme...anyone know Florence?

Listen to Fredric Chopin' compositions, its not quite what you were looking for probably but he likely suffered from cf himself. Of course he lived in a day before modern medicine and no one knew what cf was but listening to his music you can almost feel his struggle to breathe.

There are many, but since I get angry and something my Father told me once when I was sick and near death
I will have to go with " EYE OF THE TIGER " I hear it and my Father in my head every time I get sick..Thanks Poppa !

EXACTLY THIS. That song's on my workout mix and I try to time it with the hardest portion of the workout.

I really like the song Healer by Kari Jobe. I believe that God is my protector and healer.

Steve von Till - Midheaven
Why can't I rest a while? This unease in my chest A nauseous burning keeps me awake to swim inside To consume myself with fears of what I've given A piece of my breath, and the power to destroy
In this house midheaven, my hopes and dreams are tied The archer's bow is lifted and takes aim at my heart Never did I catch sight of the weapon raised Though it had been woven into my weave of fate

In addition to "It's My Life" as previously mentioned, I also find that Garth Brooks "Standing Outside The Fire" bears a lot of meaning for me.

Well this is a popular topic. Music, stories and poetry seem to speak to us who by definition is a chronic wasting disease. I relate to all the songs listed that I know, which is most of them. Pink Floyd's "The Wall" has a song I often think of. Comfortably Numb is my tune. Natalie Merchant's "Wonder" describes the betrayal I feel toward a well paid number of doctors who misdiagnosed my CF fo 50 years. My poem is the full length version of INVICTUS is how I face the challenged of always being sick.

Music, memoirs and even poety can become a battle cry. I took the time to look up everg song either the music itself or lacking access without it, the lyrics had to do. All spoke to me in some way. For me, Pink Floyds album has a tune "Comfortably Numb" is not so much a song I draw courage from but an excellent descriptive of how I feel about having CF. The ancient poem INVICTUS, the complete version version is my battle cry. Natalie Merchant's "Wonder" hits close as talented doctors missdiagnosed my CF for fifty years. A quotation I also draw on is worth sharing;

God or the great whomever has been so lavish in his gifts that you can lose some absolutely priceless ones, the equivalent of kingdoms, and still be indecently rich. --Wilfred Shees.
