What to bring to hospital

I'd bring the Vest just in case you crave an extra session you won't be at the RT's mercy. Also sometimes they are on a set schedule and for me I need Vest first thing and last thing before bed. Bring work out clothes and sneakers. Make it clear you don't want to be in bed the whole time. What is their plan for exerise for you? Crocs are great for too and from the bathroom because they can be cleaned when you get home. Ask for a case of water bottles from the cf nutritionist that way you don't need to deal with skeevy hospital water. Some comfort food things you wouldn't usually buy fruit roll ups what ever. Tea. Your eflow. That's all I can think of that others haven't mentioned. I haven't been hospitalized since 2008. I hope it's a good break and that it's a postive, healthy experience.

One tip - all the hospitals I've been in don't allow you to have your own drugs, like enzymes, in the room, so don't go advertising it =) Keep them in secret! When they eventually do bring you your enzymes, just put them back in your bottle!

Your own snacks is key, hosp. food sucks. I like peanut butter and graham crackers personally. If you like tea or individual crystal lights you can easily mix w/ water, that would be good.

I like to have 4 CPT's when I'm in the hospital. if they only offer 3 (i've never heard of this...I ALWAYS get 4!), then do an extra vest therapy. (general treatment times are 7 am, 11:30 am, 4 pm and 9 pm).

Q-tips, manicure set...I find it's a great time to give myself a pedicure! Games like Uno if you have a visitor.

My own socks and slip ons, my flannel pjs or track suits, earplugs, pictures of my doggies. =)

Another suggestion I have as a mom, is bring a little bag of "prizes" for Morgan. When my son comes to visit with my husband I would give him a HotWheel or coloring book or PEZ. Just something small so that when he leaves, instead of all of us being sad, he is ok leaving so he can come back the next day and get another "prize". I also bring a small tote of stuff for him to do while he is at the hospital. Crayons, games, small projects, stickers, paper, etc. It's a HUGE help.

Other personal items: lots of jammie pants and long sleeve shirts to wear, a sweatshirt for walking the halls, your own pillow and comfy blanket, snacks!!! I also get the munchies late at night and the kitchen is always closed by then. Also, I am diabetic and when blood sugars drop, they drop quick and the nurses can't always be there right away so I like to have my own snacks/candy ready. Hope this helps.

Also, we tell my son I have "dirty lungs" that need to be cleaned. That way he's not scared or thinks I am sick or hurt. I know you are supposed to be getting manual CPT, but I would still bring your own vest too just in case. The RT's at my hospital only do manual if the docs order it that way otherwise it's the vest 4 times a day.

A night mask, a good book, and snacks? expect to be bored mostly, and not get "ideal" sleep.
Still rest up, expect some bad food.

Pretty much all the suggestions are spot on. But I would also bring some toilet paper! HA HA. Seriously, the TP at the hospital is like sand paper. And not sure about you , but the IV drugs give me diarhea (sp.?) so TP is crucial. HA HA. Good luck! And feel better!
