What to do with my life

Also, don't rule out the possibility of positions in research and/or teaching! I don't have CF, but I am a parent to two children with CF. One thing that I am grateful for is that my profession (college professor) gives me lots of flexibility to work around clinic visits, hospitalizations, etc. If you went into medical research, even CF related research, you would not necessarily have the daily exposure to illness, but would be on the front lines of helping people.

If you want to be a doctor thats what you should be. Cause if you dont you could end up living till 60 and totally regret not becoming a doctor.

I've got CF and I'm 30 and after a life time of doing stupid jobs because I thought my CF might get in the way, I finally decided to do something proper with myself. I went to college to get the grades to get into uni and thats me just passed my first yr in biochemistry and molecular biology. I felt exactly the same way when I was younger, that so many career paths were closed to me and thats absolute rubbish. Like one of the others mentioned, I'm going in to medical research, and I'm so passionate about it that I've become a totally different person. Don't drag yourself down worrying about life expectancy, if you enjoy life to the max and set out to fulfil your goals, ur will and drive for life won't let the CF get you. There's loads of oldies kicking about with CF now, and living good lives too, so when your choosing your path choose it for you and not for your condition, Good luck!!!
