i am not sure... i just had a baby girl and all her vital signs are normal at this time....but me and my husband are concerned though because our oldest son is 10 and was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis while i was pregnant with my daughter. my second son isperfectly healthy.. i am wondering whether my daughter will be diagnosed with CF sooner or later...

Given the stats, there's a 25% chance that your other child has CF. It's very possible, and she should be tested ASAP so that if she does, she can start getting proper medical care immediately.

Congratulations on your new baby! It sounds like your daughter needs to be tested for cf. As you probably know she, like her brothers, has a 25% chance of having both cf genes passed on and therefore has a 25% chance of having cf. Has your child's pediatrician or your son's cf doctor mentioned genetic testing for your newborn? Genetic testing just takes a few weeks to get back with the results. A sweat test isn't always accurate for newborns, but both of my newborns tested positive with cf by a sweat test in their first month of life, so it is possible to get a good reading.
Sharon, mom of Sophia, 4 and Jack, 2 both with cf

Definitely get him the baby tested. Did you have your other son tested or is he just "healthy" right now? If nothing else you could find out if he is a carrier. Congrats on the baby & good luck!
