This is just a little question for u all, i am wondering what u would do in this situation. it did not happen to me but it might of happened to some of uz out there! so it would be gr8 if u would inform me on any thing that has happened that kinda relates to this...

u are at school, college or university, u obviously need to cough every now and again... but some time it is just a little bit more. ppl in ur class room are gettin a bit annoyed.. but there is nothing u can do!
now ur teacher steps in.... she has asked u to leave the class room cause ur "desturbing" the class. what would u, or did u do in this situation? take it further and let other ppl deal with it? just go out side the class, or kick her A**! haha
it would be gr8 to hear a responce to this guy!

Hard situation.
I got teased endlessly in school for coughing in class.
Does your teacher know all about your CF, and how your coughs can sometimes be?
I would talk to her about it, and come up with a solution. She has no right to put you on the spot and make you feel uncomfortable. Maybe tell her that you can't help it, you don't appreciate being made uncomfortable, and just tell her that from now on, if you start coughing, you will leave the room automatically.
It can be disturbing when someone coughs loudly, so leaving the room might be good.
Just discuss it with her so it's not uncomfortable each time.

I understand the uncomfortableness that might have occured from the situation not being handled at its best. I believe if someone has a chronic illness that causes uncontrolled coughing that it be addressed with the teacher. It does disturb the class including the person doing the coughing. That cougher is not able to concentrate on whats being said. I agree with the idea that it be addressed & come to an agreement about the person having an automatic excusal for that coughing fit & being near the door to do so easily or to bring water into the classs (whatever works). Anyone that has a cold knows how irritating it is to have that tickle in the throat or the constant cough.....well imagine that cold not going away like with CF. It isnt a day or two of inconveience.....it becomes a life style that all these things need to be addressed. Something so simple as a cough can cause such turmoil in an "ordinary" environment.

As for other students, there's no much you can do other than tell them yourself what's up. But for teachers / professors, I have a piece of advice. At the beginning of each marking period / semester / year, inform all of your teachers what's up. That way they will know enough to understand what's going on, and generally will be much more accepting of it.

Having cf and well knowing that answer to that question what i would do is explain to the teach that you cant help it that its in her lungs and tell her to shut the heck up or ull get her for discrimination..hey not a bad idea..jk. What i did was for a class i did a report...and demonstration of the treatments also of cf. No one asked me to stop coughing or leave again.

All of my teachers knew I had CF. I tried not to cough so much in class, but eventually its inevitable that you'll cough. I just coughed in class regardless of how people felt. They can't discriminate against you for coughing.

I have a student with Cf this year, and her and I talked about it, and came to an agreement that if she felt the coughing fit was going to be prolonged, she'd leave for a second or however long it took to get it under control. I left 'prolonged' to her discretion, she's had CF for 16 years, she knows what's going on. As far as drinks in the classroom, all of my students can have that, so it wasn't an issue.

Talk to your teacher. She probably just has no idea what's going on. I ask/encourage/beg my students to tell me if they have a medical problem, because once a kid had a seizure in my room, and I did the mature thing and panicked. I had no idea he had the problem. Let your teacher know.

Kicked out? You can't be serious. Any reputable school whould have that teacher in hot water. You aren't doing it to be a prat.
