What would you do?

Andrew was put on clindamycin a couple of days ago to try to get rid of whatever is causing his dip in lung function. Now he is complaining of his ear hurting and his cough is increasing. I know clindamycin is an antibiotic used to treat ear infections, so should I let this go for a few days to see how it responds to the clindamycin, or should I take him to the pediatrician right away? We go back to UNC in three weeks to see how his numbers look, then the doctor will reassess his treatment. So, common question...pediatrician or wait? What would you do?

Thanks in advance for the input!

I'd give your Ped a call and just let him know what's going on. He may want to wait and see but at least he knows. This happened to Sean once and his Ped wrote him a scrip for some abx ear drops.

I figure I'ld give a call to the ped as well. You'ld think if he had an ear infection he'ld run a temp? However, I know Maggie can be sick with bronchial infections and not have a temperature. Hope he feels better.
