im 21 and my fev1 last time i was checked was around 25%. a couple of years ago it was 54%. Anything you guys can think of to raise them a little higher like you? Every little bit helps!

ask your docters to give you hpertonic saline it does help with getting out the sputum

I did hypertonic saline at 7%, twice a day for 4 months and my fev1 only went up 1%. I heard such great things about HS and really excited about trying it but wen I found my fev1s didnt move I was soooo disappointed. Has anyone not have luck with HS?</end quote></div>
it depends on the individual ive read a few reports on this drug and it varies among people to how succesful it is some it has no effect yet in others it has great success

Yeah, I second that with the hypertonic saline.

My PFTs went up only 2-3%. I too heard so many positive things about it. I do cough up more, but it doesn't seem to budge the PFTs. For the past 7 months, I've been doing it twice a day like clockwork - never miss it.

I'm sorry you are having the same results as me, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

I am 28 years old and the mother of an 8 month old little girl that was born prematurely due to my CF. I have not been in the hospital for a clean- out since July of 2009. My fev1 as of May 17 is 42%. With that being said I am going into the hospital on July 8th.<br>
