Honestly, my daughter's cough get worse when it's Friday afternoon the doctor is on vacation and my husband is out of town. I'm kind of joking but it always seems to be that way<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have been coughing all my life...in the morning. I wasnt diagnosed until 14 so all those years I would get up and about 30 min later be over the toilet throwing up mucus...every single day (when I was a teen). Now I still wake up and cough after around 10 min...really bad for sometimes an hour or more..and then moderatly through the day. The one thing that helped me when I was a kid was hot tea. I had it every morning (green tea) and it stopped the coughing...oh, how I wish I still had it that way.

Sitting in here listening to the coughing coming from Emily's room...
Emily has a mild, baseline chronic cough that is sometimes random, but does come more often on exertion (the asthma component of her cf acting up) and in the morning shortly after waking (whatever junk settled in her lungs overnight.) And of course she coughs a lot during tx. Allergies are not an issue for her; she's been tested. When she's sick- mild bugs or sinus infections result in lots and lots of coughing shortly after laying down at night due to postnasal drip but then things will generally subside; if it's her lungs that will bring on coughing that continues night & day, no matter what, and gives an especially severe quality to the morning cough.
