Hi,
So I got this head cold from my husban 3 months ago that turned into a nasty like flu thing, with uncontrollable coughing bouts for 4 weeks and I was very chesty. At the time I had already started a course of oral antibiotics (cipro- 500mgs, 3 times a day for 2 weeks) before I caught this cold.
Well since then I hardly have a cough now and am not coughing up a lot of sputum but I feel I have not recovered to well. As 4 weeks back, have had shortness of breath. Even when having ventolin and atrovent through the e-flow I am still short of breath! I rang my c.f clinic and they have put me on another 2 week course of Cipro to see if this helps.
Also the last time I was in for i.v's was back in January this year.
Also I use to be able to tell if I was getting sicker but be bc of being on this drug Azithromycin (that I been taking for about a year) I don't have the same irriating chesty cough and sputum increase I use to have, which for me was always one of the signs that I wasn't getting any better.
My question to c.fers out there is, If this oral antibiotics doesn't help, should I consider i.v therapy? I want to know what you think, are these some of the tell tale sighs?
Thanks in advance <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
