I have a sony walkman MP3, I love it. Actually, I recieved mine as a gift as well..for my wedding from my wife's family. NO skipping while on the treadmill and holds 20,000 songs, perfect!

So I think I just learned that Pumas are sneakers??? The last time I heard hipster was in reference to jeans, and I don't have an Ipod because I don't know when I would ever listen it. I guess I don't think of myself as hip (I think I'm too old to be hip?), but I would say I like to go out and have fun. I'm planning on getting the new G5 laptop soon (my orange imac is slowly wilting away), love my camera, am honing my knitting skills (that's hip for middle agers, isn't it?), and am still contemplating the tattoo I want to get on my back. I only have one 'extra' piercing on my upper ear - I almost passed out from it right there in the chair, and decided that was enough. And I know this is not hip, but I am very easily distracted by shiny/sparking objects<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Just cuz you cant see God does not mean he is there, you cant see wind but you can feel it. Every CF person I ever met has such a strong personality, they never give up.

Wow, that was a little harsh, wasn't it?! Because someone expresses interests that means they're showing off?! And where exactly did notacrook say "i cant accept what i have so ill run from all responsibility"? Moreover...whether the poster chooses to belive in God or not, leave 'em alone!! Let people believe what they want to believe and leave it at that! There are other topics on this forum about God and depression, and as far as I can tell, this wasn't one of them. The subject of this thread was asking if there were people with similar interests on the site, not about being self-loathing. I think you're a little confused...@_@ Lighten up!!

no not confused, sounds like the two of ya's are. not to mean to come across harsh but it is hard to understand that cursing and smoking pot are an interest, sounds more like an illegal habit. Music okay and Ill even give in to the Ipod as an interest. Harsh, do not mean to be, concerned that what we have was not enough to humble ya's down to God and yes you have a right to believe or not. Chances are the two of ya's will be the first to scream my God when something goes wrong. God Bless you and may he put his arms around you and keep you safe on your lifes journey.

Ha ha, last anonymous poster, you're making waaaayyyy too many assumptions. Just because notacrook mentions smoking pot or going to a bar or whatever else, you just automatically fit him/her into a stereotype. It's great you're a christian, but that never gave you the right to judge others. It doesn't mastter anyway, notacrook hasn't been back for quite some time, so I doubt he/she is even here.

According to you, anything that has to do with something "borderline illegal" (not including the cursing...eveyone curses at some time in their lives, and if you don't then you must have a lot of pent-up anger) is a major no-no...so, I suppose you've been a perfect angel all your life and never did anything of the sort, am I correct? If so...man, I think you're the one who's missing out on some stuff in life. And no, I'm not talking specifically about pot (because when your talking about this sort of thing people automatically think that), but there are other things that are fun (but not illegal) that aren't on the prim and propper side. As far as being humbled down to God, well, if you can freely express your religious views, then I should be allowed to express mine, right? So here it goes.

I live for no one but myself and my family and friends. So that comment you directed to me was wasted. I appreciate the effort, but no thanks. And no, I don't scream at God when something goes wrong. How can I scream at something I don't believe exists? I scream at what pissed me off in the first place.

Hey dude, chick, whatever you are. Don't get your panties in a bunch! Ever take the time to read thru some of the different topics that are discussed here? I have done most of all there is to do. I am 51, been thru the 70's. Old friends still call me the "Old Hippie chick", so there.
This forum, or any forum for that matter was created to give people a chance to ask questions, or just find someone out there like themself.

You WILL find a time that you will feel the need to use this forum for a resource. All the doctors, hospitals and clinics dont have all the answers! The answers come from experience. there are not that many of us out there. Thats why we share our stuff. But we choose to share this stuff with people like us, not the whole wide world! CF is a unique disease. We are not whiners! The times I use this part of the forum its usually because I have come across something I dont understand, maybe a symptom that is normal for us, but a doctor will either blow away or not understand. It is a resouce where we can compare our needs and help ourselves. I have reached the grand old age of 41 because of my diligence to keep myself healthy and by trying to gather all the info there is to take care of myself. I had a sister, who died at age 29. SHe thought I was nuts because of my drive to try different healing methods, like herbs and vitamins. She wanted to pretend that she didnt have CF and didnt take care of herself. I know that it is possible to be fun and take care of yourself.
Don't focus so much on being HIP that you deglect yourself. You will pay for it.

If you've spent so much "time" reading all the posts on this forum then why are you still anonymous. I believe in God and my son does as well. He's asked me the same question as to why he has CF. I would never think to say because other kids are weak--that is sick and ignorant of you. I am honest with my son and tell him I don't know why God "gave" CF to him--it's not for me or him to know. For somebody claiming to be a Christian you sure are judgemental and abrasive. Put a name to your posts and then try to stand up for what you believe.
