AnD,
I know exactly how you feel... I was in your shoes in March.
I have been trying to conceive for so long now and thought my FEV1 1.5 years ago was 87%. Guess what - that was my FVC. My FEV1 was low 70's. Now, 1.5 years later, it is 68%. It shocked the heck out of me. I couldn't get over it for DAYS... I really depressed me because me I thought I was "so mild". I'm still mild but not to the extent that I firstly imagined. My doc never said that I couldn't try to conceive so as far as I was concerned I was in GREAT SHAPE! I'm still in GOOD SHAPE I just don't have the FEV1 that I thought I had.
I am so sorry for your news. Trust me, it will get easier to swallow. I know that it will take some time, but you'll get there. Look at all you do everyday. You raise your child/children (sorry, I forget if you have more than 1), run your household, take care of your husband, and still keep up!!! That is a lot for half CF patients. You do do a lot, whether you realize it or not!!! Give yourself some credit. When you reflect on all the things that you do on a daily basis, you will be able to swallow the number with much more relief following. Take care!
