well because i'm only 17 i wasn't around for anything but when columbia was lost and 9/11. i remember on 9/11 i didn't realize anything that signifigant had happened, i knew the teachers were acting weird at school and weren't telling us something but i didn't think much of it, then my teacher came back into the room after being in the hall with the other teachers where they had spent a good portion of the morning and told us what happened. by that time the towers had fallen and for the rest of the day we listened to the radio about it the room didn't have a tv and i remember being jelous about the people in one of the other rooms that did have a tv, but i was only in the fifth grade
when columbia broke up my parents woke me up to go watch the shuttle come across, we didn't see it, i don't know if we just missed it or if it was already gone but when we went back inside it was on the news

My mom and I were fans of figure skaing and our favorite pairs skaters were Sergei Grinkov and Ekaterina Gordeeva. My mom was in the kitchen cooking supper and I was walking from my room to the kitchen (and in the process walked past the living room). The tv was on and I heard them say something about a skater dying. Once I realized who they were talking about I called for my mom to come see. We both cried. He was so young. That was in 1995 (can't believe it has been 13 years already).

I was also in science class when the challenger exploded. Our science teacher was having us watch it. I remember the classroom fell silent once we all realized what had happended. I cried then too.

On 9/11, I was actually sleeping and when my alarm went off the guy on the radio was saying something about how sad it was and what a tragedy. I didn't realize what he was talking about until I got up and turned the tv on. I couldn't believe it. It was while I was watching that they were starting to say it was terrorists. What a sad day. Of course, I cried. I had to get ready for work, but I didn't want to stop watching the tv.

I was home from work sick in bed when the Challenger exploded.
It took a few mins for it to sink in, it didn't seem real .

9/11 I was in DC, I felt the impact from the Pentagon .
I waited until 7 pm to drive I-95 south I needed to drive home.
it was so strange, from DC to Fred'burg( 55 miles ), I was the only
car on 95.

I was about 14 when the Challenger exploded. I had strep throat that day so was at home that day. I was incredibly uncomfortable so spent a lot of time just walking around the house. My mother was napping on the couch, and I wandered by and looked at the tv in that room. I thought that the image on the screen looked "wrong" and then it was announced the challenger blew up. Later that day, I passed out and hit my mouth on our pool table. Probably from lack of having anything other than liquids.
