Limited amount of information about what? I don't see what more information is needed other than studies that have been done.

In terms of support - it's a fantastic company. When I got the machine, they came out to my house, explained it to me. They send me a survey every few weeks on what I like about the machine, what I don't, and how they can implement changes. They call me to remind me to replace filters (which I always forget to do)!

It's like the Hertz vs. Avis thing in my mind. Respirtech is Avis - they're the underdog and they try harder.

Plus their machine produces 22% more sputum than the HillRom machine. You only get 1 pair of lungs (or 2 if you get tx).... might as well treat them to the most effective machine on the market.

Good luck on your search.

Oh all I meant was that they don't have as much on their website or in their brochures as the other companies. And the RT wasn't sure about their customer service. I'm glad to hear it is so good.

I have some info about the three vest companies on my blog -- I felt *exactly* the same way you did when trying to make a decision. I liked the looks of the Respirtech on-line but had not seen one in person & our RT knew nothing of them either. I was afraid they were "too new" and might not be around - I'm not even sure if that was accurate.

In the back of my mind, I've always wondered if we should have chosen something other than Hill-Rom, but the power of persuasion from all those people who rave about the customer service made me decide to go with them -- just seemed like the "safe and known" choice. They did fight very hard to get our machine approved and they do have great customer service so far - I'm sure we didn't make a "bad" decision by any means, but I didn't research anything about the wave stuff you and Amy are talking about -- so you have to consider that too I'm sure.

I still have never heard anything bad about Respirtech that's for sure. Several people on here and one person I've met in person said good things about it.

Good luck in your decision! Let us know what you decide.

I too have the InCourage system and their customer service has been excellent. They sent a tech to my house to go through the learning process and the tech determined that the vest was not fitting as snuggly as it should and that it should be 1 inch longer on my torso so he measured me and within 2 1/2 weeks I had a custom vest made for me. I love that the hoses do not pop off and the fit of the vest is perfect for me.

It wouldn't hurt to check out both vest systems and give them a trial run to determine which one works better for your child. Good luck with your decision.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I know Warwick stresses using his system, as opposed to the Hill-Rom vest; however, there are several families in our area who also go to the U of MN clinic Dr. Milla was their doctor (now he's at stanford) -- they all use the Hill-Rom 104 system. One parent just got The Vest in December.

Agreed, but I just thought it odd that he stresses using the Respirtech system, while his colleagues at the U of MN are still prescribing The Vest (Hill-Rom)

Hi - I want to ask a question - We have had the Hilrom vest since April for a "trial". Since then they have tried to get insurance to pay for it. They finally called me a couple of weeks ago and said the appealing is over I can either pay for it - I said not an option or fill out papers to see if they could help us. I guess my question is if I want to try the other vest Hil Rom still has to take theirs back right ? since it is just a trial. I just don't know what to do - I want to get whats best but we can't afford to pay for it - darn insurance!
