I have used Pari LC Plus for everything for 10+ years. I have some labeled for Pulmozyme and the others I use for everything else (albuterol, Tobi and saline).

I'm about to make a big switch -
Sidestream's for pulmozyme
Sprints for Tobi

Anyone else using Sprint for Tobi?

Amy, you nebulizer queen you.

Can different types of neb cups be used with different nebulizer machines??? Mark has a Pari LC plus, but then he also has another bigger stationery nebulizer. Can the cups be interchanged or what?

Is it the neb cup that matters, or the machine or both?

also, what about a face mask? He prefers that so he can do other things while still doing the meds.

Your opinion please...</end quote></div>

Hi Julie. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Nebs & Compressors matter equally. But I think if the neb or compressor appears on the package insert for the med (that's the most accurate information from the FDA), interchanging is ok.

I have to say i'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "big stationary nebulizer." Do you mean compressor?

Buttomline if the neb appears on the PI and the compressor appears on the PI, you can use any combination of neb & compressor you feel like.

Now be careful of the PARI Trek, as discussed many times. It's particles are too large and you will get a sub-theraputic dose.

In terms of face mask, I have to plead ignorance. I know of no studies compairing face masks to traiditional mouthpieces. I could venture that they're the same as long as the mist doesn't escape the mask in any way, shape or form.

As you know with your PARI LC Plus, if you use the traditional mouth piece, any mist that isn't inhaled goes back into the neb and it spit out again.... so nothing is wasted.

Hope that helps

THanks amy. He has a devilbliss nebulizer and another older one, and then a Pari for travel. The pari one gets very little use, just when he was in alaska. We have about 10 different styles of nebulizer cups/mouthpeices and I'm wondering how signifigant they are in the picture... your response helps! Thanks

hey Julie,

Just make sure the nebs are replaced every 6 months (even without use they can go bad) and the compressor is replaced every 3 years (the compressor can loose efficiency and not produce respirable doses of the med and thereby giving less med than it should).

<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I just mention this cuz you said you had an "older" one.
