White Blood Cell Count

My white blood cell count has been elevated as far back as 1995 (that is the earliest blood work i can find). Anyone else have elevated white blood cell counts with CF? is it b/c of CF? Should I be worried-my CF doc doesn't seem to be worried about it....

I believe it is from chronic inflammation, our bodies are always fighting infections constantly so an elevated white count would make sense. The only time my doc gets worried is if it is accompanied by fever, other signs of exacerbation (increased cough, feeling tired, more short of breath etc). It won't hurt to talk to your doc about it though <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I think mine is always a little high. I always assumed it's because I'm chronically infected with Staph or Pseudo.

Mine was high, with fatigue. The Doctor ignored it, I got a second and third opinion and changed Clinics.
