Why all the ear infections?

I am primarily a sinus sufferer. I also have a long history of ear infections. For me, there is a definite connection between the two. When I have a problem in that area, I try to treat my ears, nose, throat and mouth at the same time because they are all interconnected. I will brush, floss, gargle, rinse my sinuses, and put drops in my ears. All one after the other.

My son had ear infections A LOT as an infant; we estimated once that he had 20-25 infections in his first year. Some of them occured while he was on antibiotics for bronchitis! We never did the tubes, I just didn't think the risks outweighed the benefits in his case. When he was finally off the bottle, and more mobile, he quit getting them, and has had very few since infancy, maybe 5. His hearing did not suffer long-term either. IMHO, there isn't enough research done to prove what happens if you opt against the tubes; its a matter of course for chronic ear infections. My little guy goes thriugh so much already I just couldn't see putting him through more. That's my two cents...I'm off my soapbox!
