Why does she cry all the time?

Does she suffer from reflux? My daughters were very cranky babies until they were started on a routine involving Prevacid or something similar. We have been on many different forms/brands over the years. CF babies are prone to reflux.

I was a healthy-looking baby. I would eat the normal CF amount every day. My parents fed me whenever I seemed hungry. And yet, every night I woke up screaming. They didn't have a clue what was wrong, they tried burping me and walking me up the street and taking me for a drive, etc etc. Finally one night they tried feeding me, even though they were sure I had been eating enough. I gobbled it down like I was starving, and went right back to sleep.

Try feeding him again, even if it seems unreasonable to you. CFers are little piggies, if you're lucky.

Other than that... I say reflux is a real possibility. And beyond that, maybe gas. Gas can be surprisingly painful sometimes.

UGH, sounds really frustrating, Patricia. I agree that a prevacid might help a lot, spitting up and crying is a sign of reflux. She also may need more enzymes than twice a day. She may need them with every single bottle -- ask the doctor.

The sucky part is, it could just be plain old colic. Though many people now think that "colic" does have a lot to do with gas and reflux. Mylicon drops are really good to use as well and the simethicone in them isn't absorbed, just passes through so there is really no danger with them. I had a bottle in every diaper bag and purse I owned for my kids first 6 months!!!!!

I want to thank everyone for your help. We are still not sure what was (is) wrong with Cheyenne, but she is a little bit better. Over the past week no one has gotten any sleep including Cheyenne. She would cry all the time, was constipated, throwing up mucas with every feeding, and her nose was stuffy. I babysat for her today while her mom went to school and she finally smiled for the first time in a week. It's rough, but being able to come on here and ask others about these problems helps.....it also helps to be able to vent <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">. Again, thank to all, hugs, and my prayers are with you and yours.
