Our insurance company got a bug up their behind last year. They caused us a lot of problems for a couple of weeks with Marissa's meds. We still don't know exactly what happened, but the CF pharmacy wouldn't even send out her meds unless we sent them $7000.00 first. (She was on Tobi at the time, so it was that on top of her regular maintenance meds). I was so upset, we were out of somethings and running low on some others. I fought it for a week by myself with the insurance company standing their ground, and the pharmacy not giving in either. Marissa gets terrible diarrhea without her Ultrase, which I had three days worth left. It was then that I finally e-mailed my local, state, and federal government. Within an hour a lady from the state capital called me and asked permission to have an attorney call the insurance company and pharmacy. Within an hour of this conversation I got a call from the attorney saying I know longer owed anything and the pharmacy was shipping all her meds out overnight and that I was to call him if they weren't there by noon the next day. They came before noon, and not only that, we legitimately had a balance with the pharmacy that somehow went away. I'm not advocating getting out of what you owe, nor saying I feel exactly good about that part, but I am just saying that the people we elect are there to represent us in these cases. Hopefully you will be able to work this out by a phone call from your doctor, but if not don't be bullied. Your child deserves to be able to breath, eat, etc.
Good Luck!
