Wisdom Teeth Removal and Aerosols

I was just wondering if anyone who has had their wisdom teeth out had problems from doing aerosols afterward while healing. I had my bottom one's removed yesterday and I'm still pretty swollen and I'm worried about aerosols bothering them while they're healing and if they might cause dry sockets. On the other hand I'm starting to cough up more phlem from not doing them since Wed. Any advice?

I had all of mine pulled about 2 years ago. The only breathing treatments I skipped were the night after I had them pulled. I started back the next day and never had any issues with dry socket. The only issue I had was getting them to quit bleeding which seemed to take forever. That had me worried because they say you can be more at risk of getting dry socket if the blood clot does not form to protect the hole but I never got the dry socket. I kept my mouth packed while trying to get it to stop bleeding so maybe that helped protect from dry socket while doing treatments. If your bleeding has stopped though you should be ok as long as you do not do something to break the clot loose. Rinsing and spitting can break it loose so make sure if you cough up and spit out any phlegm that you do it gently for the first couple of days. My wife is a dental assistant so I will ask her what she thinks but these are the things I remember her telling me when I had mine pulled.

my wisdom teeth were removed years ago. I could not go without my nebs so what they did was remove the top & bottom teeth of one side so I could put my neb mouth piece in my opposite cheek and inhale that way. I would breath in very slow & steady so I wouldnt cause the sockets to move. Also, they cut them out so there was a flap of gum covering the hole (gross i know), but when they did the other side they put in stitches instead, which worked a lot better. I had one side done and then 2 weeks later, after the first side's cover had started to reattach to the gum, they pulled the top & bottom of the second side & closed with stitches. You could also use a Mask so you can breath through your nose or slowly through your mouth without having to hold anything in your mouth. it would be equal to regular breathing through your mouth.
