Woman, CF and yeast infections

it sounds to me like people are getting URINARY TRACT INFECTION (UTI) and YEAST INFECTION confused.

You can still have sex and pee with either. Urinating with a yeast infection usually causes burning to the labia and surrounding tissues. Sex usually rubs the labia and surrounding tissues raw and makes them itch.

A urinary tract infection is burning (and sometimes blood) upon urination and the urgency to go frequently.

UTIs can be CAUSED by yeast infections. You might know you have a UTI if your urine is cloudy, peeing burns, you feel a little achey in your kidney area, pee frequently but don't ever quite feel finished, feel flu-like. If the UTI is caused by yeast overgrowth then an antibiotic will be counter-productive and make things worse. If it is from yeast, then you do need to do the topical treatments to help you be more comfortable, but you also need to take large quantities of internal therapies. 1) 2-3 capsules acidophilus every 4 hours2) 1/2 teaspoon HSO once a day in water or applesauce (it has no taste and works synergystically with acidophilus)3) Eliminate sugars from your diet (no juice, fruit, sweets)If these don't make any difference in a week, then you are not dealing with yeast. These may not irradicate the yeast infection in one week, especially if this one has been going on for a long time or is particularly severe.

To those who have said that you must have ALL symptoms [burning, itching, discharge, hurts to pee, etc] to have a yeast infection, that is not correct. There are varying degrees of thrush and many people do not exhibit many of the symptoms. The best way to confirm that you have thrush and not something more serious is, obviously, to go see your doctor.

To the original poster, if monistat and vagistat have both not worked, it seems like there might be something underlying or it may not be thrush at all, so perhaps your doctor will be the best one to ask
