Won't take his enzymes

My 9 month old has started to not want to take his enzymes. It seems no matter what kind of food I put it on or how hungry he is he doesn't want to take them. I have to basically force him to open his mouth so I can get them in annd then try to get his bottle in so he will swallow them down before he pushes them out of his mouth. Does anyone have any ideas? Also now that he has the G-tube he barely drinks any of his bottle because he seems to know that I can just put it in his tube, feeding him has become frustrating.Any help would be apprecciated.

I have a solution for you! Get him a prescription for Viokase enzymes. It is a powder enzyme. I put a 1/4 tsp in a small water and use a syringe in my daughters button for her night feeds. I have had tons of problems feeding my daughter. The one thing I would try to avoid is forcing any medication and food on your son. They are trying to be independent at his age and forcing only causing more food refusal. I know, I did it. Since he is g-tube fed, I would just work at getting him to learn to enjoy eating and feeding himself. I also have a 9 month old. He barely drinks out of the bottle as well. He has averaged around 10-15 ounces a day for the past three months. My daughter did the same thing at this age, but she needed a feeding tube because 10 ounces won't cut it for a child with cf. I think I am just going to quit the bottle and maybe even formula and concentrate my son on whole milk (you can add toddler formula for more calories) in a sippy cup.
