Laura,
I have seen your posts on here before and I didn't realize that you go to Cleveland Clinic (or maybe I did and just forgot). That's where I had my double lung and liver transplant...I was their first one! I hope that you can get out soon. If you are still there in October, let me know and I will stop by and visit you. I have appointments on October 12 but I'm coming in on the 11th.

I mean working is hard and then you add on all of the problems with CF and transplant and it can be even more difficult and stressful. I have been lucky in my work experience in the fact that I have great managers who are very understanding and realize that my health is the most important thing. Plus I'm no good to them if I end up sick and in the hospital! So they are all very supportive of whenever I need to be out to take care of myself or go to an appointment.

I too have bad GI, CFRD, and Sinus Issues. But working 40-60 hours a week and traveling to my work appointments doesn't phase me. I'm also a very type A personality and not working drives me crazy. I also just love working and being in a setting with my peers and having that healthy competition to be successful. I also fit in time for the gym at 6 AM before work.

Everyone is different and you have to do what works for you and fits into your schedule. If you find an employer though who is laid back and provides an atmosphere that is understanding of your issue and you prove yourself as a sold employee who stays ahead of their work, working can actually be very beneficial and rewarding.
