Worry! Worry! Worry! Thats all I do

Welcome Beth!! Worry is something us parents of CFers do. Its the reason why so many of the adult CFers think we are so overprotective. Because worry makes us cautious.

I definitely was worse in the early months. Cystic fibrosis was a chorus that never stopped echoing in my ears. Its still consuming. No day goes by without it really, but I do have hours at a time where I feel relatively normal.

My best suggestion is this. Get Abella on a good preventative plan: enzymes, cpt, nebs, regular cf clinic appointments. Then step away from the computer a bit. Get informed and then trust the docs for now. If she starts coughing or has other issues, take them as they come. I know, easier said than done.

Heather, that's such good advice! We parents tend to get obsessed with all the details of CF. Face them as they come rather than anticipating them in fear. When my kids were diagnosed I didn't have the internet to do research. Maybe that was a good thing?<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Try to focus on your little girl instead of the CF. Maybe this will help replace some of the anxiety that goes along with CF with the joys of being her Mom!

I dont think you can totally put it in the closet especially so early on. BUT you can sure as hell sweep up even if its not as good as vacuuming!

HUGS...

All very good advice so far... I agree with it all !! Just don't step too far away from this site :) Knowledge is empowering and will help you make better decisions about your child's health -- there is so much to learn from this site. But I do agree with seeking other anxiety relief for yourself as well as putting some self monitoring in place for what you read about and where you focus your worry. You may find that speaking with a therapist just once or twice will help you to stop spinning your wheels every night.

Best wishes and welcome to the site!!!
