Worse lung

My lower left lung is my bad spot. If I get any pain-its there. I also am not comfortable laying on that side when I sleep.
I have scarring there from when I had pneumonia at 5 yrs-but fortunately I have no further scarring anywhere else.

for me it is my right bottom lower lobe. i believe scarring began there before i was diagnosed and in my early years, and has stayed with me.

i remember a doctor once saying that most CFers have more trouble with their LEFT side, which seems true based on the responces so far. i can't remember why...something about where your heart is positioned affecting it?

Mine is also the left lung. Upper left to be exact. I too can feel when plugs come up there is like a feeling like the flood gates have opened and even more junk comes out. Feels good but sometimes getting those plugs up are the worst things. When I can feel one loosening up I try and work harder to get it up and that often leads to gagging which leads to vomiting and boy is that fun. But back to the question yes it is my left upper lung.

my right up is the worst. with each infection it seems more and more useless and just seems 'in the way.' I find when I'm sick I breath around that lobe and can actively breath passed it to enjoy the healthier lower right lobe.

I had pneumonia when I was under 2 in that lobe and when I was 19 also. like christian said, if there's pain in my ribcage/lungs it's over/under/behind that lobe. also, my hemoptysis is from that lobe.

I'm the original poster..

Interesting that it seems most people seem to have more problems with the left and that it seems everyone has a lung that is worse!

My worst side has always been my left side. I have had my left upper lobe removed because of massive hemoptysis. Since then, my lower left lung has moved up to fill that space and is still my worst side. You can hear breath sounds on the upper and not the lower now that the lower has moved up. Crazy huh!

I'd have to say that its my right upper lobe that gives me the most problems. That's where I had my embolization, and that's where majority of my plugs are.
