I just had to share with somebody and although i told my cats all about it, they didn't seem overly interested!!

After a very rough 2005/2006 i have had the most amazing start to 2007 and we're only in January.

After finally ridding myself of my nightmare Bi-Polar, suicidal ex boyfriend I have me the most wonderful man - he's caring, nurturing, kind and he GUESSED on our first date, that I have CF - unbelievable!! He makes me do my treatments, makes sure I eat, makes me get lots of sleep, gives til it hurts and best of all he doesnt seem to mind that I am in no hurry to um 'consumate' our relationship (mainly because i'm too embarrassed of my body to get naked in front of him, but of course he doesn't know this is the reason!) either way, he says he respects me for my desire to wait - wow, he's a keeper!!!

As well as this, I got offered a new job role in early January to a very responsbile role despite my illness which was a huge show of faith on the part of my employer and also at the ripe old age of 38 with the body of a 12 yr old boy and a huge self esteem problem, I got chased down the street last week and asked to be a catwalk model in a fashion show!!! wtf??? i fought the urge to say 'you need glasses mate' and instead said yes!! haha

But by far my most treasured accomplishment is CF related. I've started running just about two weeks ago which is something I haven't done since i was about 12 yrs old. At first I could only run of one mintue, then have to walk, then a few days later I went up to two minutes. Then yesterday I managed 6 minutes at a faster speed.....today, still at the faster speed i ran for 18 minutes without stopping!! To say I am over the moon is an understatement, I simply cannot wipe the smile off my face at the moment....ah bless and thank you god!!!

Anyway sorry to bleat on about stuff that is probably completely off topic but I just had to tell somebody!!! Now I need a shower as I am completely drenched in sweat.....yech.

I am so happy for you that you are able to run (I'm currently working on that as one of my goals).
You sound like such a riot, you need to add 'good sense of humor' to your great 2007 list. Humor can get you far in life and you sound like a blast!
Keep up with your good work and love you for you. Be the most beautiful and confident 37 year old (with a 12 year old boy body) you can be!!!!

28 w/CF
& I'm mad at my husband right now...........grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thankyou guys so much you truly are the most wonderful bunch of people on this board, the support and information i've obtained from you people in the last 18 months is phenomenal. I'd be lost without this forum as NZ is so backwards when it comes to CF and treatments etc.

Diane, I have no idea how he knew, he doesn't know anybody else with it, but he said he had a 'sense'.......maybe a sign huh? He just could be 'the one'...yay!!

Kelli i have to ask....why are you mad at your husband?/?? What did he do to you??? Let me at him....!!!!!! lol

Congratulations. I remember seeing a picture of you and you are really pretty. You do not have a boy body or whatever you call that.

You deserve it all. Keep us posted
