Xopenex vs. Albuterol

I am just curious how many of your kids take Xopenex and how many take Albuterol? Have you had any problems with Albuterol? Hayley was diagnosed at 3 months old and has always been on Xopenex. Recently our prescription coverage has changed and I was thinking of asking the doctor to change us to Albuterol because we can get a 90 day supply for $10 at Target or Kroger. Xopenex is much more expensive!

She is doing the nebulizer for Xopenex and has never tried Albuterol.

Just curious what all of you think. Thanks!

Often Xoponex is presccribed for younger ones because Albuterol can make your heart race.

I prefer how Albeuterol works on my lungs, but it has made my heart race at times.

I also, for awhile, nebbed albeuterol & xoponex together because one vial of albeuterol wasnt enough. I have since stopped the xoponex because it is so pricey even with my copay.

Adam did the albuteral and then we changed over to xopenex due to it being cheaper with our insurance (they recommened it).

He says he can't tell the difference from the albuteral to the xopenex.
