Yeast growing in my port....

So after feeling like major crap every time my IV is accessed, I finally was heard and had a culture taken of my port. I have yeast growing, which means, I'm in the hospital getting treatment.
I'm really ticked that NO ONE listened to me for years, literally, they just kept giving me zofran to help w/the symptoms.
I had a message on my phone from my dr that this is life threatening and I had to come in NOW to get this worked on. They wanted to take my port out but decided to do this first.
And on that note, I HATE BEING IN THE HOSPITAL. The kid in the next room is addicted to tv and video games, they are so loud, it's 4:30 in the morning and his tv is still blaring. I hate it, I'm so tired, I want and NEED sleep. I'm ready to rip my hair out.
There was another lady on here who had the same awful symptoms when she was accessed and I wanted to tell her about the yeast.
Well please pray I get some shut eye. Other wise, I'm going to freak out!!!!!!

I know what you mean about being in the hospital...Last time I was in there was a little baby screaming for over an hour and no one went to look for her...Her constant screaming kept me awake blah...

I hope this yeast in your port gets taken care of...I have a port and that sounds scary to me!! What were your symptoms? I cannot believe that its been years that they didnt listen to you and now its life threatening I wonder if you can file a lawsuit against them for that...

My symptoms were like the worst flu symptoms you could imagine. Fevers (104), chills, body ache, head ache, vomiting, nausea, fatigue & I'd feel like I was going to black out if I stood up fast. It was awful.
The good news is....my dr is writing papers for me to go home today. Yippie. As long as we can get this alcohol that I will use to flush my port, then I can go home!!! And the hospital now has room service, at least I have 1 thing to enjoy!
