Yeast Infections

I do not take antibiotics on a regular basis nor do I take anything else except for my enzymes, Vit ADEK and Calcium.

My question is this...my boyfriend was sick for 2 weeks and was on very high doses of antibiotics and was told to take Acidophylous too as a precaution. Well now it feels like I have a yeast infection. Could he have had a yeast infection and not know it and given it to me? It's only been 2 days since I've been "itchy" but I onlyitch when I pee...

Hmm, it is possible. Males commonly get oral yeast infections rather than urethral, although urethral is possible. The acidophilius can treat yeast infections in some cases, it also helps to repopulate the flora of the gut after high dose antibiotics.

So I suppose, if indeed he did give it to you, that the most likely transmission would be an oral-genital route. He would also likely be having symptoms. Usually transmission of urethral yeast infections is the other way around, the male gets it from the female.

Turns out I got a yeast infection...just because! had nothing to do with my boyfriend cause apparently we women can't get them from men but they can get them from us!

Before I was on a strict course of pro-biotics, I experienced yeast infections often. Now that I am on cultrelle, I usually do not get them, however with Cipro I still get them, even if I cut the pill in half!
