zyvox and albuterol

I was just reading around and came across info that states Zyvox and albuterol should be used together cautiously, I did not even know this. I guess high blood pressure and heart rate can be raised and need to be watched. Hmm. My daughter is on albuterol at least 3 times a day; 4 if she's taking Zyvox and I can't believe I did not know this. I will bring it up at our next Cf clinic.

Hi,
It is probably fine but you could always call your clinic and tell them what you read and that you are concerned. They will probably tell you it is fine and ease your fears. They are prescribing these medications all the time . Every medication can have a side effect though and can affect one person differently than another. My son had bone marrow suppression and fluid build up in the abdomen on the zyvox. He also has cf liver disease which it says don't use if you have liver disease, but no one knew his liver would react like it did on the zyvox. Now that is just for my son, plenty of people take the zyvox and are fine. I am just saying those side effects they list really can occur. Ease your mind and just give the clinic a call.

I am currently on Zyvox and I take albuterol 3-4 times a day. I was put on Zyvox during my last hospital stay at Duke and the only meds I was on that showed a risk with Zyvox was Lexapro & Tramadol. They never once mentioned an issue with Albuterol. My Pharmacy havent found any interaction between Zyvox and Albuterol. This is not my first time being on Zyvox and Albuterol together. Where did you come across this warning? I have never heard of it. Even in my own research. I would like to read about it.

I'm going on zyvox and I have been on it in the past as well. I have never heard of this precaution, but I will try and remember to bring it up at my next appointment. I would hope that if there were real problems they would make this more prominent, but, we all know how drugs are.

I've been on Zyvox twice and I was also taking Albuterol 4x a day while on it. I had absolutely no problem with it. The only thing with me was that I had to stop taking my Zoloft while I was on it and that was TERRIBLE!!!
