I am sick

HI all,

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate all the encouragement. I feel a little better today, but I know how it goes with me-I get a day where I feel better and the next day I am back to square one so i'm taking it really easy.

As for excessive high doses of Vit C or anything for that matter-I don't take really high doses of anything. Oregano in oil is contraindicated for pregnancy-but my OB did once tell me that a very low dose pill is ok. They test these supplements at extra ridiculously high levels. A low dose for immune system help won't harm in anyway. But thats my personal decision. I found one company that does a low dose oregano-not the oil, but a pill form that isn't as potent as oreg oil. I'd only take that if I was really getting sick.

As for dangerous vitamin levels-the amount you'd have to take to induce an abortion or go into shock is incredibly high-like an entire bottle in one hour. I take 3-4 caps a day. Fyi for anyone who is wondering, this is all ok'd by my doc, but of course check with your own and go from there. Part of my philosophy is if I can take a natural supplement or vitamin to get better (provided it is safe of course) and that keeps me from needing a medication-that the best thing for the baby. Just like the doc's theory that taking an antibiotic during pregnancy if needed can prevent the baby from getting the bacteria from the infection. Its all a risk/benefit ratio.

I also get alot of my vitamins from juicing fruit and veggies. I really do believe that juicing has prevented me from needing IVs many times in the past. So, anyway, I hope I keep feeling better and thanks again to ALL!!

Christian, How are you feeling? Are you getting adequate sleep lately? You and your peanut are in my prayers. Take care lady.

Hi all,
I am much better. Not 100%, but I think I'm out of the danger zone. The awful head cold feeling is gone. I have increased cough so I'm still resting and doing extra therapy and juicing.

Boxer-For juicing I usually do 2-3 apples, 1 orange, 2-3 carrots, 1 whole lemon (peel and all), and when I am really worried about a bad cough/cold (like now) I add 1/2 clove of garlic and 1-2 cups of fresh pineapple (to help mask the garlic taste). I do this 4-5 times a day when I'm really sick. And 2-3 times if its a little cold.

What kind of a juicer do you have? One of those tornadoes or something??

Christian thanks!!! I have never added garlic but imagine that is great for you. I will try that next time I am fighting a cold. I do a similiar juice- but I add spinach and sometimes cucumbers. You can't taste either because the apples are pretty good about covering the taste. Do you use all organic?

Wanderlost- I have a Breville juicer- I got it from William Sonoma- it was expensive but well worth it. Its very easy to use b/c you don't have to chop everything small and its very easy to clean.

have a good day ladies, I have to get back to work

Oh I'd love to have a Breville juicer. I have a cheapie Juiceman Jr. from Walmart. It was $35. But its lasted me 4 years and I don't have to chop anything up small either. I know the nice ones like yours squeeze out more juice and get more nutrients. Oh well, for now this is it.
