Hello to all! I just found this board and I am so excited to see a pregnancy area!
My name is Anne. I am 26 with CF. I was dx'd at 18 months. I married my wonderful husband on 10/4/2003. We welcomed our first child, Alexa Brooke, into the world on 9/6/2005.
I am so excited to share my TTC, pregnancy and Mommyhood journey with all of you.

Hi Anne,

It's nice to meet ya! I'm 25 w/CF, married, and currently trying to conceive. I have mild CF. It's great to have another CF mommy around!!!

Oh are you Anne..I can't remember your last name, but Melissa has mentioned you if its the same person I'm thinking of. You were on Good Morning America, right? If its you-Welcome, and I was very proud of your story, it was balanced and educational and extremely encouraging, and I TIVO'd it and showed it to all my relatives to show them that pregnancy is beginning in this cf world.

If you aren't the person I'm thinking of, I'm embarrased but still VERY happy to have new cf mommy joining this area of the forum!!!! Welcome to you whomever you are!!!!

Let me just tell you Anne-
I saw that story at a time when I was having real problems between me and my mother over this pregnancy. Me and my hubby were trying, and I worked SO hard for over a year to get my pfts up, to work with the doctor, do everything I was supposed to, and my doctor gave me her blessing with this. I wasn't going into pregnancy without her reccomendation. (I have the same doctor as Melissa)
So we do all this work, and my mother is very negative and unkind. She remembers the time when no one could have kids, period,and was of course worried. But she expressed it in a very cruel way to me, trying to alienate me from her life, and causing divisions between me and my siblings. Then I saw this-and I showed it to my father, and some of my siblings. It did SO much good for the situation, really. This is what started her to change her mind, and helped my siblings to rally around me too.
You probably did this to tell your story, to spread cf awareness, but look how much further it even went! So, you did the right thing! Thanks so much!

Thank you for telling me the impact my story had in your life. I am not very outspoken when it comes to having CF. The GMA story was a huge step for me. My vision in doing the story was to give others with CF hope. I wanted younger girls with CF to see how important it is to take the meds and do all they can do to stay healthy. I wanted other ladies with CF who are TTC or even just thinking of TTC to see that it can happen. It can be a long hard road but so worth it. I wanted Mothers of little ones with CF to see even more hope and promise held within their children. Knowing that my story helped just one person makes me so happy.
