I have no idea if anyone is even in the area, but, if you are a nursing mom or a breastfeeding symapthizer and are aware of the incident at an Applebees in KY, we are having a nurse out in South Bend, IN tomorrow (9/8) at noon at the Applebees on Ireland (southside). This is going on nationally as well as in Australia and Canada

None of us involved have ever had a problem with Applebees anbd so I called the restraurant to let them know that we'd be there and that we could use it in a positive way rather than negative. Indiana does not require a permit for peaceful assembly and state law allows a woman to nurse her baby anywhere she is legally allowed to be.

I'm OH and not still nursing a baby, so I won't be going. I wanted to say that I have nursed in restaurants like Applebees and Damon's before, with no difficulty or rude comments, thankfully. I 100% support a women's right bf in public. I do find it odd, though, that the woman had the state statute with her when confronted about bfing.

A few women in my LLL group have cards that have IN law printed on them so that if they are ever in a similar situation they can pull it out - I don't have one, nor have I ever been involved in a bad breastfeeding situtation - but in order to support the act of making breastfeeding normal, I feel gatherings such as these make a good point.

First of all unless you are flopping your boob all over the place the whole time for everyone to see, I dont see how/why people get so offended by such a natural thing.

I, of course, wont be in attendance, but support you in spirit!
