    Humidifiers?

We were told no. During the winter when it was super dry they said we could run a crockpot full of water on high. Be sure it can't be knocked over and the cord is out of reach. The entire thing can be cleaned very easily

Feeding tube/coughing issues. Anyone else experience any of this?

Sounds like reflux and slow motility. My DD had to take zantac, prevacid, and erythromycin (like .5 ml with each feed). She was eventually able to come off of the erythro. Reglan just didn't help her. If it were thicker, it might stay down easier, but I'm not sure if you could thicken it and...

Does being extra salty make one itchy?

I believe so. When Vinny is sweaty he gets itchy. Plus, you know how when you wear a hat and your head gets sweaty, your head gets all sweaty? I do DD's nebs with her sitting on my lap, facing forward, resting the back of her head against my chest. When its hot and her head gets sweaty, it...

    shakey hands?

My son is 5 and seems to have slightly shakey hands when trying to do something like writing. His teacher mentioned it to me last year, I was thinking maybe the duoneb? But she also mentioned it could just be some muscle weakness in the hands, so we do things to strenghten them, like cutting...

CT scan in place of yearly x-rays?

Thank you everyone for the replies! I'm pretty sure they said they would be doing CT scans every 2 years, but I'll double check. It tends to get hectic with 2 little ones at a clinic appt! I am uneasy with the idea of CT scans that often, but am glad to get this first one. I will talk to them...

CT scan in place of yearly x-rays?

At our last CF center appt, we were told they're no longer doing yearly x-rays on the kids, instead we will be doing CT scans every 2 years. Wondering if this is going on in anyone else's clinic? I'm happy because its more thorough, but I do have to say I'm a liyttle worried about all that extra...

Why do so many Cfers have Reflux?

Neither of mine had MI but both have/had reflux. My son had it mildly as a baby, seemed to grow out of it, but still takes prevacid to help with the enzymes. My daughter had very severe reflux, almost needed a fundo, but a combo of zantac, prevacid, and erythromycin seemed to get it under...
