Hi again! I'm sorry, I can't imagine how helpless you must feel as a mom. I've often thought that when I'm sick it's just as hard or harder on my family members.
I wanted to clarify because I just went back an reread and my post was confusing ;)... I don't think that he would have to wait...
Hi Fel, I'm so sorry to hear that your son is having a tough time. :(
In regards to Cipro, it can take me a few days to a week to feel any benefit from it. Sometimes it does the trick, other times I still end up needing IVs. I usually try to give it at least a week and see how I'm feeling...
You are welcome!
Thanks for sharing about Gary! Sounds like he owes at least part of his longevity to his lifestyle. It's always encouraging to hear of "old" CFers. :) One of our active members is 75! And we have many 40s/50s/60 somethings. Amazing! Hopefully those of us living to that...
Congratulations Meg, how exciting!! YES, you are right-you need to EAT, EAT, EAT! :) Weight loss became a big issue for me with breastfeeding, so keep eating/drinking so you can nip it in the bud! ;)

This made me smile. :) I used to see a vanity plate at my hospital that said "jenwren", and we have a user with that name as well! She didn't live near me or go to my clinic, so just an odd coincidence.
Hello and WELCOME Lisa and Gary!!
So... I am not from California, but still want to add my 2 cents. ;) I had a very similar experience a few years ago when I first become Medicare eligible. I was covered under my husband's employer's plan, so had to decide if it was worth taking Medicare B...
Hi Z!
I'm afraid I'm not really the person you were looking for to respond, but I just wanted to say hello and welcome. :)
I'm so sorry to hear of your daughter's diagnosis, but so happy to hear it sounds like she is in VERY good hands with both her CF care team and her parents! As you...
Yes! Great job mom! You are an amazing advocate for your little guy and he is so lucky to have you. :)
I'm so sorry that he isn't feeling well again, but at least you can rest assured that he is going to get the treatment he needs.
Take care, hope he's feeling better soon!

Hi and welcome Jo-anne!
I have not heard of anyone making their own saline. I'm not sure it would be a good idea as it would be very hard to maintain sterility, which you definitely want for nebulizing.
I have heard of people diluting the 10% Hypertonic saline by mixing it with normal .9%...
Great advice! I usually get my flu shot at clinic, but last year I got it at a CVS minute clinic and I made sure I got the QUAD. As you said, why not be as covered as possible! :)
Thanks Jeanne! I was hoping that those who are praying folk could pray, and those that send positive vibes, juju, or whatever it is they do could do that too. :) I personally just can't imagine, first the death of your loved one and then this?!
No, I did not know her. We've just been...

Julie (25) passed away from complications with cystic fibrosis. Her body was stolen from the funeral home after her service on August 15th. Her poor parents are beside themselves. :( Hoping and praying they find her soon.

Hi Teri,
Sorry you are having a hard time! Yes, I do sometimes experience sharp pain when breathing deeply or coughing. Mine is usually around my lower left lobe, and I'd describing it as a stabbing pain. Mine has always been deemed to be pleurisy (inflammation of the membrane surrounding the...
Welcome Ben, I'm glad you've found us. :)
I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I hope you will find support and information here to help you along this path.
I'm the CFer in our family, so I can't imagine what it's like to be in your shoes. I know it says a lot about the kind of...
Hmmm, that's interesting. And it's a bummer, sorry. :( My advice would be to talk to his doc and see what he thinks would be the best course of action. I wouldn't want him to continue the Colistin if it continues to cause the shortness of breath, because it could begin to effect his PFTs...
Hi and welcome erkushio!
Sorry to hear about your hubby having problems with Colistin. I had the same reaction to Colistin as well as Tobi. With Tobi, my first several cycles I tolerated it okay, but then it started causing bronchospasms, making me really out of breath. It progressively got...
Hi Janae, and welcome to the site!
I can't imagine what this mother has gone through. It's heartbreaking. :( Thank you for sharing her story with us!
I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Do keep us posted on how things go!

Hi, me again! ;) I just noticed this response and wanted to mention something... If you DO decide to go to AZ, from what I understand they have a pretty great insurance program for the working disabled. They define "working" loosely, and there are no certain number or hours etc you must work...
Hi there and welcome to the forums! I'm so sorry to hear that you have so many health issues in addition to CF. As if CF isn't enough. :(
I pretty much agree with the consensus here, but want to clarify one thing to see if I'm understanding correctly. You don't currently have a team in KC...
