    How awesome is your doctor?

My doctors and CF team get 5. I've experienced doctors who were far too rushed during the appointment and didn't properly follow up. So now I really appreciate my new (for the past 3 years) CF team. They are timely, responsible, dedicated and positive.

I've got a cold - Can I still work out?

Hi, I caught a cold (no fever) and am coughing way way more. I started taking oral antibiotics last Thurday and have been staying at home to rest and keep warm. Can I still work out though? I have one of those gym bikes which is what I mostly use to exercise, so I wouldn't have to leave the...

Result from the pneumathorax is i need a lung transplant

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that that is happening to you. I wish you all the strength in the world to deal with this now. Send me a message if you'd like to talk. My FEV1 is 35% so I can relate, even though I never had a pneumothorax. How did yours happen, do they know the causes or is it random...

What's your lung function and what can you do with it?

That's so true, very ironic. I constantly feel guilty if a day goes by when I'm not active, but if i'm resting that's when I feel most comfortable. Another irony.

What's your lung function and what can you do with it?

I agree that staying as active as possible is more benefitial than not, but this is easier said than done. My doctor recently told me that with my numbers, most people don't do anything, and because I have always pushed myself I can still do "so much". But even knowing that, I still find it...

What's your lung function and what can you do with it?

Hi, I've always been curious about this...Mine are as follows: - FEV1 - 35% (for the last 10 years) - Vital Capacity - 2 liters - I feel tired quickly during physical activity, but I can lead a reasonably normal life: work 24h a week (I'm a soft-skills trainer), can go out, go shopping, go for...

    Surprising results

I should start a blog on this! Even my mom said I should let people know because there are probably a lot of people in this situation. My doctor told me they rarely do this test here because it's extremely expensive. I'll seek more information and let you know. I don't actually know the name of...

    Surprising results

Hi, I'm 28 and my FEV1 has been 35% for about 10 years. I can do a lot with it (work, lead an active life, etc) but of course am always afraid of it decreasing since it's already so low. (I do get tired a lot obviously). For this reason, I have always thought I had a 35% lung capacity. However...

Your interest in the world's current events?

Hi guys, I've recently been accused of not really caring about much that goes on in the world, like wars, current events, conflicts, financial crisis, etc. I've pondered about this and I did come to the conclusion that even though I read a lot and like to know what's going on, I find that I...
