    Vitamin D

My nutritionist put me on the Vit. D. I did not notice any real change or benefits. I've seen D3 supplements in the store, however I'm slightly confused by them. Vit. D is a fat soluble vitamin and the Rx comes in a gelcap with a liquid inside (just like Vit. E). So I'm wondering how a tablet...

    What does Vital capacity measure?

Vital capacity, or forced vital capacity (usually listed as FVC on your PFT report) is the total amount of air you are able to expel after maximum inhalation. Essentially its tidal volume+reserve volume. What's normal for a male 5'9" I'm not sure. However I am 5'7" and my reference value is...

    Curcumin supplement and article

From what I remember, the studies showed that while curcumin is an anti-inflammatory you need to take ungodly amounts of it to do even a marginal amount of good. It was abandoned by the researchers, but that doesn't stop these herbal companies from trying to make a buck.

    inhaled levaquin study

Finally they are getting around to this. It's a neb, though? I was under the impression it would be a powder, something like an Advair discus. They've been talking about this for the better part of 2 years. Maybe the powder will be later if the nebulized liquid does well.

    Opening a can o' worms

Here is a publication on lung function decline in patients with CF and the contributing factors. Perhaps this can clear some things up for people and bring this back to a scientific discussion. http://chestjournal.chestpubs.org/content/126/2/412.full.pdf

    Opening a can o' worms

I'm failing to see the benefit of 2 different sections. What does it matter when a person is diagnosed? I was diagnosed at 6 weeks, previous to that I was a "failure to thrive." At 6 weeks I was old enough for a sweat test, which of course was positive. Now I am doing really well, better...

should i get tested for mild CF

Getting tested wouldn't be a bad idea, but the test is costly, so insurance may be a factor. Also, sometimes carriers have some symptoms. Your best bet would be to get evaluated at an accredited CF clinic.
