In Pa we have a state CF program that you can join if you qualify. I don't know if any other states have a comparable program. They offer discounted medications, but usually require you to use a larger pharmacy such as the CF services pharmacy. Also, if your clinic is associated with a...

    Amazing PFTs

Actually my 2005 numbers were just a little shy of where I am now. My numbers took a dive between 2008-2010. Like you, I was low 90/upper 80 with my FEV1. This was all secondary to ABPA and a wicked case of sinusitis, which required 3 surgeries. I understand what your doc is trying to say...

    Marriage & CF In California

Is it just me, or would she not be better off on disability? I admit I'm fairly ignorant of the requirements and benefits of SSDI and such, but never having worked at age 27 and having a high burden of treatment (tune-ups every 3 mos, vest, presumably Tobi and HTS or Pulmozyme) it seems she...

    Marriage & CF In California

I disagree that you are too involved. If I saw my best friend go down a seemingly risky pathway, I would try to at least be supportive while offering as much practical advice as I comfortably could. Also, a bit of a warning. With over 12,000 members on this forum, she likely could be one of...

Gene therapy close in UK, but funds running out

In the past, it hasn't. I participated in one study, the results weren't promising. This article seems poorly written to me, but I suppose it would to most of us, as it's written for the general public. It seems to infer that the treatment is a new attempt at genetic therapy which has been in...
