    What are you allergic to?

Fentanyl, which can be a problem because it's a common drug of choice to use with sedation for things like bronchs.

    Port and Diabetes

I've had CFRD for 13 years now and a port for about 7 of those. Initially my CF doc said no way to a port because of the infection risk, but I was willing to take that risk considering how traumatic, inconvenient, and risky having PICC's can be. I had to get it replaced only due to a...

    transplant article and picture

That girl in the article is me!!! I feel so lucky that my wait was short (3 months), because I now realize how sick I was. For all of us past and future transplant patients in the New England area, we are so lucky to have Brigham & Women's conducting all this fabulous research that I'm certain...

    Chest bones popping

I've had similar "pops" occur during really intense coughing fits! Usually it happens on my right side...I think it's my "floating ribs" (the ones that don't attach to the sternum) rubbing against or hitting other ribs. I think it's an issue for many of us, especially as our physiology changes...

    Pain Issues Pre-Transplant

Julie, not to air all this out on a message board, but I AM SO HAPPY you are getting out. We should meet up at the ocean mist (halfway between our houses), oxygen and all, and see if we can get some hot guys to buy us some sympathy drinks. Haha, just kidding, kind of. Anyways, I've got the...

    Pain Issues Pre-Transplant

Jenn, you brought tears to my eyes. Some days I have thought "forget tranplant, I don't want it, I just want to be out of pain." I also tried the Fentanyl patch 25 then 50 mcg/hr with Vicoprofen for breakthrough. The Fentanyl completely wrecked my short term memory and honestly I didn't feel...

    Pain Issues Pre-Transplant

Lindsay...I agree with you 100% regarding the activity/staying strong prior to transplant. I haven't actually given yoga a try, mostly just due to exhaustion and some of those positions squeeze the crap out of your chest and abdominal cavities. I will certainly look into it. Lucky me, I live...

    Pain Issues Pre-Transplant

So here's my situation, which I'm sure many of you have been or are currently in. As my CF has progressed, so has my pain. When I say pain, I mean really intense body aches, not only in my joints but in my long bones like my ulna/radius and tibia/fibia. The types of aches you'd experience prior...
