3 Year old daughter with CF

Does she have respiratory symptoms? Nasal/sinus or lung issues? Testing for PIDs is done through blood drawn. Testing for PCD is done through ciliary biopsy. You would definitely know if your DD had a biopsy done as it is an invasive procedure. Usually either done as a nasal biopsy by an...

3 Year old daughter with CF

Some other things to request testing on, if you haven't already are: primary immune deficiencies (PID), celiacs, and primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). Celiacs shares many GI symptoms with CF. People with PIDs or PCD can and do test positive for pseudo. Good luck!

    Need help with some questions

That was going to be my suggestion. Is she on solumedrol, prednisone, or some other type of steroid (preferably IV since she's in patient anyway)? If not, I'd definitely ask if they've considered IV steroids. HTH. I hope she gets better quickly!

    Infant daughters troublesome cough

Actually, cough is the #1 symptom of asthma, not wheezing. Very common misconception among many. I'd go back to your pulmonologist. At your DD's age, there are so many different things that could be causing the cough, not just cf. Asthma, GERD (reflux), aspiration, food allergies...

    Waiting for Answers-- VERY FRUSTRATED

Waiting for Answers-- What to ask doc tomorrow? Check into primary ciliary dyskinesia. It shares many symptoms with CF although the cause is totally different. Also, ask for immune deficiency testing. If he truelly has polyps in his sinuses, then I'd push for a full panel genetic testing for...

    Albeuterol Dose Enough?

If there's an asthmatic component, they may let you do back to back. We can do up to 3 back to back nebs of albuterol .63 on our 8 yr old and then 1 neb every 4 hrs. With our 6 yr old we can only do 1 every 3 hrs... It wouldn't hurt to ask. Or, if you have an albuterol inhaler, maybe you...
