My mac and the forums don't get along apparently! I'm so sorry for the multiple posts!

We have a one year check up at the clinic tomorrow and I was just wondering besides the chest xray, what else we might could expect.

Our almost 1 year old is still asymptomatic and is doing great. We haven't had an appointment for over 8 weeks.

Any insight would be great at the 11th hour! We go in tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:30.

Every clinic is different, but at my annual appointment I get my vitamin levels checked, urine glucose test (they probably won't do this on a 1 year old though), chest x-ray (depending on how long it was since the last one, at this year's annual I didn't get it because I had 2 the week before, long story there), and about every 2-3 years I get a dexa scan (bone denisty scan, but again they won't do that on a 1 year old).

We just had this check up a few mos ago. Our dd is 3.5 but she was only dx last year. It was a usual check up but with a urine collection and a chest x-ray. We waited til the next check up to do the blood work because the chest x-ray was a bit of a scare for her... and we had a dinner date!! For the blood work(6 tubes of it) definately get some emla patches to apply to the area first (about a 1/2 hr before)!!! Our cf clinic gave them to us. She didn't even feel the needle or flinch or anything! What a great first experience with that! Good luck! She'll be fine! You may have to pull yourself together!!

Hi Emily! I was just thinking about you guys! Something made me remember your post about the new Sesame Street character named Abby. Hope all is well.

At our 1 year visit we has all the usuals: weight, height, lab draws (I agree with the EMLA patch idea. Call ahead and make sure they have it waiting. Sometimes they do lab work first and it does need to be applied before the draw. We took along stool samples. And, of course the chest x-ray. We also had an infant PFT. I know that there are a lot of clinics that don't do this, but if your's does, plan on it taking at least a couple of hours. She'll be sedated for it. Come to think of it, if they haven't already given you directions about which meds to give or not give and when to feed her, then you must not be having one...

We met with EVERYONE at this visit...geneticist, nutritionist, social worker, pulmo, nurse practicioner...and the pft/respitory people. The one year visit was nearly an all day event for us.
