See I have always wondered about the lactose thing with my daughter, but I gave her breastmilk for 10 solid weeks and then half of the time for about 6 months. She threw up all of the time even with prevacid (so it was not a reflux issue). As soon as I switched her to a lactose free diet, the throwing up ceased.

Maggie has never had formula. She has been breastfeed and is stilling nursing twice a day (I'm trying to do that until 15 months). I am starting to think, from all your information, that she has an allergy or intolerance. No one in our family has allergies to food but my sister when breastfeeding (all of her 4 kids) had to stay away from dairy and other foods because the kids would have blood in their stools. But they were totally fine when starting on foods/milk. So I will talk to everyone at clinic tomorrow and hopefully come up with a solution. I'll ask them about the milk/mucus relation too.

Oh great to hear that she is Breast fed! IMO she's still getting all the milk she needs from you. No reason really for dairy. Keep nursing her as long as you want/can. The benefits of breastfeeding never go away, especially w/ cf! My daughter is still nursing at 17 months.

So we went to clinic today and Maggie had only gained about 3 ounces. (Last week at pediatrician she had gained a pound - which makes me question the accuracy of these scales). So the dr. doesn't think she has a problem with milk... thinks its an enzyme thing. She had another big stinky poop this morning regardless of not having had milk in a day. So he switched her to some other enzyme and from zantac to prevacid. So we will see what happens. Thanks for all your input.
