the most i've ever been on is 80 mgs. 120 is a very high dose, and while this drug has some awful effects, it sure is effective. i also agree that if you are having asthmatic components, this can be better than ivs.
just accept now that you are going to gain weight, but it is mostly water weight. you won't be able to stop your hunger cravings. prednisone for me causes crazy hunger-the kind that could make me drive out to mcdonalds at 3:00 am. i just want to eat everything in sight.
but you can control what you eat. get junk out of the house. keep healthy snacks on hand. try to drink alot of water and don't take in too much salt.
your face will probably get puffy, thats normal and within 2 weeks of stopping the pred, it will go down.

just FYI I wear maternity pants when I'm on prednisone. They're very comfy and make a round tummy a little less obvious than if you're wearing regular jeans or something.
