Hiya Diane

I'm so sorry, you must be very frightened. big hugs!! I too always tend to think the worst when I get a new symptom, but the reality is that it is very rarely what we most fear and i'm sure that will be the case this time, but it is only natural to be pensive.

My first thought was the drugs you've been on lately for your lovely little fungal ball.......is it possible these have now built up in your system enough to cause some fairly major side effects??
I ask this because when i cultured 'scanty' aspergillus recently i questioned my doc about taking an anti-fungal of some kind and her response was that she would only look at these as a last resort because apparently they have some nasty side effects.

Please do ask your doc this if they don't mention/consider it.

Best of luck, try not to worry too much and plse plse keep us posted.

I am so sorry Diane. I had this problem while in the hospital in 2000. I would feel like I would fall off the toilet if I didnt hang on for dear life. That is assuming I could make it to the toilet because walking was like being in a drunken stuper. They did hearing tests, monitored my sugars, blood pressure everything. It turned out to be (or so we think) the tobra. Even tho things were coming back fine on the peak/troths. I was dehydrated and very sick so we presume my body just didnt handle the med well that time. I never had problems before or after that. THANK GOD. It was awful. I was very thankful that it happened while I was hospitalized tho. It took about 2 weeks or soaltogether for us to rule things out and for it to ease up so hopefully you will find relief soon. I DO UNDERSTAND!

I'm sorry that happened (as I know how you feel), but I have to say, I am feeling better now, because I had the same thing- twice! And all my drs. didn't have a clue for a long time what had happened. The first time it took almost 6 months to totally go away, the second I felt it coming on and freaked out and told them "No more -myacins this trip!". I also had IV fever with mine (I'm weird apparently, I know -LOL). Tobi I'm fine with now, but I did have a time about 5 or 6 years ago when I reacted to it and Tobra and Gentamyacin, and couldn't take them- and then it went away who knows?

On the original topic (sorry), I would ask about any rare side effects in your meds, and I would ask an ENT about infection, etc. when you can. Good luck with the neurologist- hopefully (and prayerfully) it will turn out to be something quickly and easily fixed.

My experience with dizziness had to do with a cyst on my uterus.

Many years ago (5 yrs) I had the same problem - I was so dizzy I was vomiting. I was only with an HMO at the time. They assumed it was allergies too, and put me on antivert, which didn't help. I don't remember how or when, but it eventually went away, but came back sometime later down the road. By that time I was with my CF clinic. They hospitalized me, but couldn't figure out what the problem was. At the same time, I was starting to have heavy periods, and within a year, having HUGE blood clots - I thought I was having an unknown pregnancy miscarriage or something. I was also highly anemic and needed iron infusions. I tried to tell the team that I had bad periods, but they skipped over it. I finally went to the gyno and passed one of those clots in front of her and she nearly passed out - said I had to have surgery within the next few days. Turns out I had a huge cyst on my uterus and had the uterus removed.

Now, I have cysts on my ovaries, but so far, only one eruption. If they continue, those will be taken out too.

I hope with all your heads together, you can find the solution and fix it - it's not fun feeling that way!
