My experience with dizziness had to do with a cyst on my uterus.

Many years ago (5 yrs) I had the same problem - I was so dizzy I was vomiting. I was only with an HMO at the time. They assumed it was allergies too, and put me on antivert, which didn't help. I don't remember how or when, but it eventually went away, but came back sometime later down the road. By that time I was with my CF clinic. They hospitalized me, but couldn't figure out what the problem was. At the same time, I was starting to have heavy periods, and within a year, having HUGE blood clots - I thought I was having an unknown pregnancy miscarriage or something. I was also highly anemic and needed iron infusions. I tried to tell the team that I had bad periods, but they skipped over it. I finally went to the gyno and passed one of those clots in front of her and she nearly passed out - said I had to have surgery within the next few days. Turns out I had a huge cyst on my uterus and had the uterus removed.

Now, I have cysts on my ovaries, but so far, only one eruption. If they continue, those will be taken out too.

I hope with all your heads together, you can find the solution and fix it - it's not fun feeling that way!

Thank you everyone for the prayers, and ideas.... Well the neurologist thinks it is something in my inner ear. He wants me to see an ENT and also have a cat scan of my brain. He doesnt feel it is any of the medications, and upped my dose of antivert from 12.5 mg. to 25 mg. He feels that should do the trick. He had me do all the standard things like touching my nose, walking a straight line, standing with my eyes closed, resist when he pushes my arm or leg down etc. etc. All of that was normal. I told him driving is such a challenge, because i am fine when the street is smooth but when it isnt , i feel like one of those "bobble head dolls" lol . Walking is odd also, because with every movement i get the "bobble head" feeling . It is the oddest experience. I asked him what else COULD cause this type of vertigo and he said an infection in the brain could cause it, but he doesnt think that is what it is at all. I myself cant imagine it being an infection in the brain since i am on antibiotics all the time, but i also know that nothings impossible. I pray this just goes away already !!

Diane... Thanks for the update! Know I'm thinking of you and praying you get some relief SOON! Please keep us posted.

Its weird, cause I just read this post for the first time and I've actually been having spouts of dizziness (completely new to me... never had before) for the past couple of weeks off and on. The weirdest thing is that I get really dizzy when I EAT! My blood sugars are totally normal when this happens, so its not the CFRD... So, what else could it be, right? And, its so sporadic, but lasts about an hour or two each time. I can't drive or see much (my eyesight gets kinda "blotchy")... So, I kinda understand what you mean and figure I'll go to the doc soon too if it continues for me.

Please, if anyone has any ideas why I'd get dizzy when I eat and it lasts a couple hours, PM me (I don't want to hyjack Diane's topic!)

Diane, keeping you in my thoughts. I know this is scary cause I'm dealing with it myself.

Diane- did they mention Meniere's disease? It's a sudden increase in fluid in the vestibular (balance) part of the ear. It makes you feel suddenly off balance. Just a thought.

Ironic you mention that Katy, My dad had that. I asked the Neurologist about it yesterday and he said it isnt that , because with meniere's disease the dizziness is very bad and i wouldnt be walking, driving etc. and it comes and goes, where my dizziness is constant, It never stops which is the most annoying part of it. He did however mention that he felt i probably have some inflammation of the vestibular part of the ear. Its been exactly 18 days now and i am tired of it. Thanks for the info
