What I meant was that there could have been some risk (quite low though) when she was a newborn in a NICU - but she's older and bigger now. It isn't an issue to worry yourself over. I know a woman who had preterm twins (34 weeks). She then got MRSA in her c/s incision. She had to pump and dump for about 1-2 weeks till the doctors felt that it was ok for her babies to get her milk. (she also couldn't visit her babies for a week because of the MRSA - so sad).

Probiotics are the good bacteria in our guts - antibiotics kill all bacteria - they don't target just the bad ones. Therefore you can get diarrhea and yeast overgrowth. By taking oral probiotics you are replenishing the good bacteria and hopefully lessening or preventing those side effects. Yes yogurt has probiotics but when you are on antibiotics yogurt alone may not be enough. I take 2 different brands of probiotics because different brands have different strains. The only times I don't get yeast infections while on meds is when I take probiotics.
