Just a little update. We're doing really well here. Scarlett is such an easy baby! She sleeps next to me at night and actually sleeps - and only nurses once or twice which is easy to accommodate as I usually drift back to sleep before she's done. She never mixed up her days and nights. I get plenty of sleep at night and just lay around w/ her during the day. She has an awake period in the morning that is 2-3 hours and then she's out for the rest of the day usually. My husband is taking california's paid family leave so he is home till Sept 25th. I'm going to be so sad when he goes back to work. He's been such a huge help with Logan and taking care of the house. I think he now realizes that it isn't as easy as he thought it would be <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Logan is adjusting really well so far. It helps that his routine hasn't been broken too much if at all. He still sleeps w/ us and is still nursing - both of which provide him with comfort and reassurance. He's enjoying having DH home all the time and my parents have been helping out w/ him a lot too. They take him places and have him over their house to play. I'm going to enroll him in preschool that starts next month so he is looking forward to that too.
I think I'm prepared to say that I'm recovered from giving birth. I felt the difference about 10 days post-partum. Before that time if I was up too much (just even walking around the house too much) I would get light headed and winded for some reason. But at 10 days I felt much better and continue to feel great. I only had about a day and a half of "crazy emotions" compared to over a week with my son. I've slowly been venturing out of the house a few days a week but am still taking it very easy. Getting my vest done has been a challenge though, especially in the beginning. I was just too engorged and sensitive but it seems to be ok now.
Time to get going!
