after the birth- shared or separate hospital room?

the hospitals where i live do not have shared rooms either. i guess i'm not in a big enough city to need that. i just couldn't imagine, cf or no cf, having to share a room after giving birth.

I had a single room, but it wasn't isolation (no gowns). I don't have any resistant strains either. I did have RT come into my room for my treatmetns and they gowned up, but no other nurses did. I don't know if my OB ordered a single room but they went to great lengths to get me a private post partum room. In fact I was on the post partum floor, but in a different wing. (not with most post partum nurses)

btw Haley, I live in a larger city (Sacramento, CA) and there's one hospital here that has quad rooms for post partum patients!!! Can you imagine?! THREE roommates (and assuming they all had singletons, three babies plus your own??) Crazy. I was glad to have a single room.
