I'm glad to hear your doc is going to let things proceed naturally, and I really hope you'll think about letting nature take it's course - I know how easy it is to want to be done with this, but baby knows when to come!

I'm still hoping my Cf will go away...I keep waiting and waiting. Or that one day someone will say "oops, we were wrong, you don't have Cf after all - go have a normal life!" I think the way you feel is normal - just inform yourself about everything so that you don't have to rely on your docs - let them be a resource or a sounding board for your own ideas rather than the "be all" of your care. I think once you take control of your own health you'll feel less panicky.

I'll be waiting for that birth amnnouncement!

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised your doc decided to wait. So many docs are totally into medical management of birth. I think the peri I saw with my last pregnancy was brilliant and I really liked her for the pregnancy but I shudder to think what a birth with her would be like. I haven't decided if I'll see her again this pregnancy or not (I saw her in tandem with my regular OB).

As for the CF - just because you got a diagnosis it doesn't mean that you will all of a sudden start getting sick all the time and not bounce back. You are still the same Bonnie who has great PFTs! Lots of people w/ CF are able to maintain stable PFTs over long periods of time. I totally agree w/ Wanderlost - you need to be your own advocate and remind yourself that your CF team are just a part of the equation - they aren't the be all to end all. I remember approaching my old CF docs with wanting to start zithromax (a now standard CF treatment) about 7 years ago or so. I had heard great things about it via my online support groups but my CF docs hadn't heard of the research yet and didn't want to prescribe it to me. I did get a sister drug which worked well though. And then about a year later they CAME TO ME and told me I should start taking the zithro - I was like "I told you guys about this already". It really opened my eyes.
